چکیده

The genus Mycoplasma relates to Gram-positive bacteria that lack a cell wall and are capable to cause chronic disease in humans and animals. Among the agents of infection and disease in domestic poultry and wild birds, Mycoplasma gallisepticum is the most important mycoplasma species, causing considerable losses in the poultry industry. In the present paper, we provide data on adaptation of M. gallisepticum to the eukaryotic host cells on the genomic level. The major changes were predominantly localized in the VlhA-hemagglutinin genes which are important components of pathogenesis. The ability of mycoplasmas to change dramatically the repertoire of surface antigens and to vary the immunogenicity of these components allows them to remain undetected by the immune system of the host. The data presented in this article are related to the article entitled "Phase Transition of the Bacterium upon Invasion of a Host Cell as a Mechanism of Adaptation: a Mycoplasma gallisepticum Model." (Matyushkina et al., 2016) [1]. Data posted in repository https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/315515. Bioproject ID: PRJNA315515.

Update on HCV genotypes among Iranian blood donors

Abstract Background and Objectives Hepatitis C (HCV) infection is one of the main causes of chronic hepatitis diseases all over the world. HCV is a transfusion transmitted virus and a serious threat to general health. HCV genotyping has an important role in tracing routes of infection. This study aimed at investigating the changes in  distribution pattern of HCV genotypes among Iranian blood d...

Cellular SRC kinases and dsRNA dependent protein kinase (PKR) play key role in intracellular viral (CVB3) replication

SRC kinases and PKR are intracellular protein kinases, which play key roles in intracellular viral replication. In this research, the effect of SRC kinase inhibition and PKR activation and inhibition on replication of coxsakievirus (CVB3), an entrovirus of the family picornaviridae – causative agents of fatal myocarditis, was studied. Vero and Hela cells were cultured and infected with CVB3 in ...

Analysis of Epstein Barr Virus Genome in Serum and Ocular Samples of Patients with Inflammatory Eye Disease Using PCR Method

Background and Aims: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is very common in the population. Virus belongs to the family Herpesviridae, whose representatives are characterized by the ability to cause the human body latent persistent infections. The goal of this study was to assess EBV infection frequency using PCR method in samples from inflammatory eye disease, in comparison with EBV presence in ...

Isolation and characterization of HSV-1 DNA from trigeminal ganglion neurons during suppressed infection in vitro.

The current study analyzed the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1) genome during suppressed and reactivated infection in vitro. Utilization of 3H-labeled HSV1 provided a highly specific probe for intracellular localization, isolation, and characterization of the HSV genome after infection of rabbit trigeminal ganglion neurons. Restriction enzyme analysis of viral DNA extracted during both suppre...
